Introducing...
JAY!
He is a Budgie, basically an Australian parakeet, and he is Lester's new pet! We went to a bird show over the weekend and there were lots of cool birds. Lester really liked the finches with all of the different colors that they are and said he wanted to get one for his own pet. But after some talking and convincing him that a finch isn't the type of bird that will just sit and hang out on your finger, we decided that an 8 week old, hand fed Budgie would be a better fit for him. There were 3 we were picking from, they were all hanging out on his shoulder and we picked the one that was the most calm. The girls even got a kick out of holding him, he is very sweet!
We have talked about how he needs to be worked with EVERY DAY so that he stays calm and sweet. I am excited for Lester to have his OWN pet that he can bring with and talk about when he accompanies me on my shows. He is such a natural educator, he loves telling people about things he knows, and animals are one of those things.
I found them like this last night before bed time. Chillin' in Lester's room reading a book!Introducing......

He is a Muscovy Duckling! Muscovy's are a duck that do not quack!!!!!
He is a cutie! We are hoping he is a 'he' so he can grow up and keep our female Muscovy duck, Daisy Duck, company!
