On Thanksgiving Day morning, we were all "nuggling" in bed, as Lester likes to call snuggling. And I decided to try to reason with a 2 and a half year old by telling him what Thanksgiving Day is all about. I started by saying, "Thanksgiving is a day when you give thanks for things that you are thankful for. Like, Mommy is thankful for Lester and that he is happy and healthy. And I'm thankful for Daddy and our happy family." Then I said, " So what is Lester thankful for?" And he says, "I'm thankful for presents!!!" with a big grin on his face! Then Daddy chimes in, " I'm thankful that we are not being attacked by feces throwing monkies right now!!!!!" So that's what I get for trying to be a teaching, thankful mother on Thanksgiving Day! Two smart aleck comments!!!!!
