Yes, you read that correctly!!!! The girls are starting school.....well, daycare, but we refer to it as school with them. I know what some of you are thinking........WHAT THE ____________????!!!!!! Isn't she homeschooling?????!!!!! Yes, we are still homeschooling, Lester at this point, and the girls too when they are not at 'school', and then when the girls get a little bit older, to where I am not just trying to pre-occupy them all the time while we do school, they will more than likely be homeschooled as well. We had never thought we would be doing this with ANY of our children, however, the last few months have brought about some changes for us. Jungle Jill has become increasingly busy during the week with school shows. So to alleviate Grandma Liz from having to come to our rescue every time I get a gig, we just decided that it would be easier and better for everyone involved to enroll the girls in a 3 day a week program at the Child Development Center at Joe's work. This way, we have 3 weekdays that I am able to schedule programs, the girls get out of the house and get to learn from others their age, instead of just feeding off of each other all the time, and I can accept the need for more available Jungle Jill days.
I am having very mixed emotions about this as this has been our first official week of them being at school. The first day they were only there for 4 hours while Lester and I went and did a show. Today they are actually going to stay through nap time, until 2:30 when Joe gets off of work. So we will see how they do with napping in a strange place. They have done great with the transition so far! I am just really glad there are 2 of them because they at least have something that is familiar to them in a new place, each other. So I think I am handling it better than if I just had one to drop off and leave by herself. The stay at home mom in me HATES it, and feels like this is crazy. But the working, realistic part in me knows that this is good for business and the girls too. They will be able to gain some independence and not just be linked to each others' side all day everyday, they can explore on their own in a new environment.
Can you tell I am still trying to convince myself of this???????!
Here are the 'first day' photos of them eating their breakfast at the table with their new friends!
Valentina doing her 'cheese' smile of course!
Angelina doing her 'holding it in, trying not to smile' grin. She had the 'stop you're embarrassing me' look because I was taking their picture at the table with all the other kids around!
Well, wish us luck in that this will be the best new thing for the Animal Family!

Things Wil be fine! They look like they are enjoying themselves!! Every mother goes through the same feelings, wether it is dropping them off at preschool or Kindergarten for the first time. Like you said, it is good they have each other and Joe is very near by if there is ever an issue. Great to hear that Jungle Jill is making waves...awesome for you and I am sure Lester is loving the shows and the mommy time!! The girls are so grown up...I can't believe how long Valentina's hair is!! Beauties....just like their mommy!!
