Lester's First Day of Kindergarten!

Lester had his first day of Kindergarten on Monday!!!!! It went VERY well. :) This is NOT a joke! I think most everyone knows that we have been doing school at home all along with Lester and we have now made the decision to continue homeschooling him. It just seems to be the best fit for our family at this time. We decided to make Monday the 'First Day' of school because that was when Dysart School District (the one where he would go if we was going to school) was back in session and also the same day Daddy had kids back at his school again. So it was a first day for everyone!

I wanted to make a big deal about it so that it would stand out from what we have already been doing at home for the last few years! He was sooooooo excited when he saw the Welcome Sign and couldn't wait to use the chalk board and dry erase board!

We even had a schedule!!!! This is sooooooo different from anything we have EVER done! Lester is my one child who has never had and never been on a schedule of any kind. So he was actually excited about this and loved check marking each thing as we completed it!

On Tuesday I had a Jungle Jill show so we had to put school off until later that night. But Grandma Liz was over during the day and did a bunch of fun activities with Lester and the girls to change up the pace a bit. She had asked Lester how his first day of Kindergarten was. He said, "It was actually quite fun!" So I am glad he had a good time and I look forward to our homeschooling adventure!

I LOVE that you did this!!! My sister is going to do something similar with her girls in the fall, and I think it's awesome. (They are just days older than Lester.) Can't wait to hear about all the cool things Lester learns this year :D
