My Helper

This summer has been one of Jungle Jill's busiest summers! Lester has been 'My Helper' and coming with me to many school shows this summer to give me a little bit of a hand. Grandma Liz has been our true blue child care during the week so this also gives her some alone time with the girls! They love their Graaaama! Grandma Liz also managed to find this cool leopard printed hat for Lester to wear. So now he fits along with the jungle theme even more, along with his animal embroidered vest made by Grandma Corky years ago. (I don't know what we would do without our wonderful moms/grandmas!) The new vest she just finished is in some of the pictures down below.
Lester LOVES to help with the baby tortoise, the scorpions, the baby turkeys we had this summer, the goat, the snakes, and the kookaburra. He has even been talking about the snake and the ferret. These are his 2 favorite animals so he has learned about them and he tells the kids all about some of their 'fun facts'! He is doing a great job!

Yesterday I had a gig at a mall in the East Valley for their Kids Club program. I have worked pretty closely on many occasions with the woman who puts on the shows for the Kids Club so she had Jungle Jill as her special guest. She also loved that I brought Lester with me and she introduced him first as her special friend and had him up on stage with her during the beginning of the show, before we got into the animals.

Here they are doing some warm up leg lifts.

Then doing some marching!

Then doing some jumping jacks! They did 53!!!!! Lester got tired at about 30 something....I don't blame him, I was getting tired just watching them!

Lester singing and dancing on stage with some other kids from the audience! Mind you this was in front of about 200-300 people!!! He did so well!

The one thing he whispered to me after my portion of the show started was, "Do you think I can talk into the microphone too?" (referring to the one I was using). I told him probably not, but I did let him do his Kookaburra call into it when we were trying to get Dingo to do his call. He was ECSTATIC that he got to hear himself on the mic. It was pretty funny! And Dingo did his call into the mic also, so yet again, he didn't let us down! :)

Lester posing with Dewper the Prairie Dog after the show!

Lester and Persephone after the show!

And Miss Persephone even got us a free ride on the double decker carousel after the show was over! It was awesome. We even got to skip to the front of the line too because she said it's like a 2 hour wait to get on after the show finishes. It was a great day! I look forward to more shows with Lester this summer and the years to follow!
