If the last 3 weeks are an indication of how the next year is going to go (The Terrible Two's) we are in BIG trouble.......or maybe I should say we are in for DOUBLE TROUBLE!
The girls have really stepped it up a notch over the last few week. I mean really???? When they hit that 2 year old mark, does a switch just flip???? They have been doing things in the last few weeks that they have never done before....and I'm not meaning this in a good way!!!!
- Taking the stack of diapers off of the shelf in their room and throwing them all over they place, even ripping a few so the little white pieces inside that expand and soak up the wet were ALL over the place...almost as if it had snowed in their room.
- Finding and taking the Desitin off the shelf and smearing it on the dressers and cribs and their hands before throwing it in the crib to where they couldn't reach it anymore...thank goodness because that stuff is IMPOSSIBLE to get out of carpet and they didn't get a chance to get that far!
- Switching the radio in their room to the Spanish channel by flipping the AM/FM button. (maybe this could be seen as educational????)
(all 3 of the above mentioned items are up on a shelf that they can NOT reach.....so how are they now getting to it???? Are they helping each other stand on things to get to it???? Climbing????Needless to say, that shelf is now empty!)
- Angelina has stretched and reached and pulled down the curtains in their room on a few occasions from inside her crib.
- Valentina has been climbing out of her crib. (with a little re-arranging that has now stopped.)
- They have been caught hanging and pulling up on the counter tops to look up over the edge to see if there is anything they want or can get into.
- They have been fighting over toys a lot more these days, even purposely taking things from each other just to get a rise out of each other. ( I feel like a referee these days!)
- They have been biting each other, mostly when the previously mentioned toy stealing happens.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST.......
- They have been taking there diapers off....AGAIN...they were doing this like a year ago!!!! Mainly when they are playing in their room together, or in their cribs for nap time and bed time. I mean literally, minutes after I put them down for nap one day, I heard squealing and laughter so I went in to see what they were doing and why they were not laying down going to sleep like good little girls. They both had their shorts off, diapers off, and were throwing them back and forth to each other in their cribs. This was happening multiple times a day for days in a row. And the straw that broke the camels back happened last Friday while I was away at Jungle Jill's....we had another POOP incident. They had it EVERYWHERE, ALL over their room, on the walls, on the carpet, on the dressers, on the cribs, on their toys, all over them, in their hair. This did NOT go over well with Joe!!!!!! They were basically in solitary confinement for the rest of the day, separated from each other, and we have had to make some MAJOR changes.
But all in all, this time too shall pass! I feel like the last few days have been a little bit better. They have been minding their p's and q's a little more, I think they actually got that we meant business after the scolding and time outs and separation they got after the 'incident'. And maybe there is still hope for us....and them. Otherwise, Joe will be looking for volunteers to take them off of our hands!!!!! ;)

OH. MY. GOODNESS. The poop incident would have sent my husband dry-heaving to the bathroom. THAT IS EPIC. Hears hoping it's just a little trial phase and they're over it SOON!!!
